Expats HR services in Bangladesh: contracts, permits, relocation and renewals
Ongoing HR administration for your foreign nationals in Bangladesh — employment contracts, work-permit and visa lifecycle, relocation, leave and benefits, and exit clearance — for USD 149 per expatriate per month.
What are Expats HR services in Bangladesh?
Expats HR services in Bangladesh are the ongoing human-resources administration of foreign nationals working in the country: drafting and maintaining their employment or assignment contracts, managing the work-permit, visa and security-clearance calendar including renewals, coordinating relocation and dependants, administering leave and benefits, and running the exit process with tax and immigration clearance.
Where the advisory service plans the assignment and the work-permit service obtains the first permit, Expats HR keeps the assignment compliant for its whole life. Permits expire, addresses change, roles broaden, dependants arrive; each event has a BIDA or immigration consequence and a deadline. Our Dhaka desk owns that calendar so your HR team does not have to learn it, and can employ the expatriate through our EOR where you have no entity.
What does the Expats HR service include?
The monthly fee covers assignment-contract drafting and amendments, the permit and visa calendar with renewals filed 60 days before expiry, address and role-change notifications to BIDA, relocation coordination for the first 90 days, leave and benefits administration, dependant-visa support, quarterly check-ins with the assignee, and a managed exit with permit cancellation and tax clearance.
Assignment contracts
Bangladesh-law employment or secondment agreement with express notice, leave, benefits, IP and termination terms; amendments when role, pay or location change.
Permit and visa lifecycle
Renewals filed 60 days ahead, security-clearance tracking, amendments for role changes, cancellation and re-entry when an employer changes, multiple-entry visa upkeep.
Relocation and dependants
Apartment shortlist and lease negotiation, school introductions, dependant visas, health cover for the family, driver and SIM set-up; costs at cost.
Leave, benefits and wellbeing
Home-leave and local-holiday tracking, international medical cover coordination, emergency evacuation cover where required, quarterly check-ins.
Compliance calendar
Every BIDA, immigration and tax deadline for each assignee in one calendar shared with your HR team, with 90-, 60- and 30-day alerts.
Managed exit
Permit cancellation, tax clearance certificate, final settlement, lease and asset handover, and de-registration so nothing follows the assignee home.
What does an expatriate compliance calendar look like?
A typical two-year assignment carries at least nine dated obligations: E-visa issue, arrival, work-permit application, security clearance, e-TIN registration, first income-tax return, permit renewal filed 60 days before the first anniversary, visa extension, and departure tax clearance. Nexus tracks each with 90-, 60- and 30-day alerts to you and the assignee.

Expats HR FAQ
Does the Bangladesh Labour Act apply to expatriate employees?
Only where the expatriate is a "worker" under s.2(65); most expatriates are managerial or technical specialists and fall outside the definition, so their rights come from the contract. Nexus expatriate contracts therefore state notice, leave, benefits and termination terms expressly, and adopt Act-level protections where you want parity with local staff.
What happens if the expatriate changes employer or role?
A work permit is tied to one employer and role. BIDA requires the existing permit to be cancelled, the individual to leave Bangladesh and re-enter on a new visa for the new employer; material role changes need a permit amendment. We manage cancellations, amendments and re-entries so the assignee does not end up working outside the permit's scope.
Can Nexus handle housing, schooling and dependants?
Yes, as relocation support: shortlisting apartments in Gulshan, Banani and Baridhara, negotiating leases in the employer's name, school introductions, dependant visas and health-insurance enrolment for the family. Relocation costs are at cost; our coordination is included in the monthly Expats HR fee for the first 90 days.
